According to new stats released by Facebook it is now growing at more than 200,000 users per day

Now has more than 43 million active users (up from 39M in August), average of 3% weekly growth since Jan. 2007

Yippee, The Amazon DRM-free download store has finally opened with an impressive 2,323,235 mp3’s available from 180,000 artists on 20,000 labels. All tracks are 256 kps mp3’s priced at 89 to 99 US cents, you need to have a "delivery" address in the USA, but since mp3's are delivered by download, that is pretty easy to organise.

Included are thousands of tracks from Universal and virtually the entire EMI catalog including Radiohead and Pink Floyd, plus gazillions of indie artists.

This is a great project, I'm going to buy a few of these and give them to the school I think. Might even convince the kids to create a fund raiser to support it?

Microsoft Corp. is in talks with Facebook Inc. about making an investment in the social-networking startup that could value Facebook at $10 billion or more, according to people familiar with the matter.

CNBC just reported that Microsoft may take a 5% stake in Facebook at a cost of $300 million to $500 million: that would value the social network at up to $10 billion.
